Have your story beta read for grammar and spelling before submitting. I will not accept a story that has too many spelling errors, etc and I really do not have time to beta read and correct stories myself. I have tried doing this, but I found it delayed updates, etc, so I won't be doing anymore beta reading after the current one I am working on. A beta reader may be found at:

I will only accept completed stories for archiving.

In the past, SWCC was a fan fiction archive that contained only original character driven stories and stories with minor SW characters (for instance, Riv Shiel), in the main role. Time’s moved on; a lot of the small fan fiction archives no longer exist, and of the ones that do, most haven’t been updated in a long, long time. Because of this, I’ve decided that it’s time to relax the rules on acceptance of major characters into the archive. As fans, we can’t let these small fan fiction archives become extinct! However, there are some new rules that apply.

1. Romance stories involving a major character, (e.g. Obi-Wan) and an original character will be accepted into the archive, as long as the OC isn’t a Mary-Sue. For help on deciding if your original character is a Mary-Sue or not, you can go here. However, I strongly advise you to only concentrate on the section specifically aimed at OCs, (listed there as fan created characters), rather than the whole thing, because even OCs that aren’t in a romantic relationship with a major character can get high scores, and I don’t consider them to be Sues.

2. Don’t just simply copy portions from EU novels and film novelizations and insert into your story. Even if the passages are credited to the author, it is still plagiarism, and bad practice. Not only that, but it doesn’t make you a good writer and it damages the rest of the fan fiction community. However, it is ok for you to re-write scenes from the films and novels, if you put them into your own words and tell it from a different point of veiw.

4. Crossovers are still not accepted into the archive. From my experience, I have found that such stories tend to be of low-quality and that you have to know both universes really well before you can even write them. I want to keep the quality of the stories archived here high, so that people will enjoy reading them and will continue to return because of the good quality fan fiction that you can find here. For a similar reason, I don’t accept stories where Star Wars characters come to Earth, or people from Earth end up in the Star Wars universe.

5. Stories with actors and actresses playing themselves, (i.e. Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, etc), are not allowed. It is an infringement on their right to privacy (and doesn’t comply with rule 4, anyway...). I also find that these kind of stories are dangerous and encourage obsessive behaviour in fans.

Fan Art Submissions

I will accept fan art for inclusion in the gallery or to go with your fan fiction. Here are some guidelines.

As with fan fiction, only G-PG-13 images will be accepted.

Fan art should be of original and minor characters only. Main character fan art will not be approved.

As the gallery is getting quite full, you can now send fan art via e-mail, but do so by uploading the image to a free image host such as image cave or photo bucket and send me the link. I will then upload the art into the gallery.

Only art that has been created by you, or was created by an artist at your request, will be accepted into the gallery. If the latter is the case, then please include the artist’s name with the artwork, and a link to their website or gallery.

Fan Artists – if you see artwork displayed on SWCC that doesn’t have your consent to be displayed, please send me an e-mail with the details of the art, (including proof that it is your work), and it will be removed.
